Ghanaian midfielder King Osei Gyan suffered an injury while in action for Halmstad BK in the Swedish top-flight on Monday night.
The 26-year-old was forced out of the game in the 35th minute after colliding with Gefle IF goalkeeper Emil Hedvall during a goalmouth challenge.
Halmstad BK medical officials will assess the extent of the damage done to the midfielder on Tuesday morning and see whether he will need a surgery.
Halmstad, the host, went ahead to suffer a 1-0 home loss against Gefle who had Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Bonsu making his debut for the club.
Bonsu, a box-to-box midfielder, came off the bench in the 78th minute to anchor the Gefle midfield as they bagged their third away win of the season.
