Medeama striker Nathaniel Asamoah says he is thrilled to have ended his five game goal drought after scoring a brace to hand his side a 2-0 victory over Bechem United.
Asamoah who is leading the goal king chart had to wait 450 minutes of football before adding to his tally of 13 goals in the First Capital Plus Premier League.
Coincidentally the two goals copped up against Bechem takes him over his personal best of 14 goals in the 2010/2011 season.
But Asamoah says the pleasure is much with scoring to helping the team rather than breaking the records.
‘”Well the two goals I scored today were well rehearsed and I credit the coach for them,” Asamoah said after the game
‘”at the beginning of the second half of the season I had looked at that record and said I could better it but I am genuinely happy that I have broken the goal drought after a long time.”
“I cannot put a target to the number of goals I will score but I am looking to keep going all season.”
