Midfielder Afriyie Acquah has been unable to join his new teammates in Torino for pre-season due to the expiration of his Carta di Soggiorno (residence permit), GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The Turin-based side began training last week but one of their new signing has been absent.

GHANASoccernet.com understands the 23-year-old was unable to fly out due to the expired Carta di Soggiorno.

Acquah has now applied for an Italian visa at the embassy in Accra and should leave town early this week.

He signed a four-year deal with il Toro last month.

Acquah was an unused substitute in Ghana’s 7-1 win over Mauritius in June in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
