
Black Stars management committee chief George Afriyie is hoping for an improved pitch ahead of the country’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius.
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan was critical of the playing surface after his team grinded out a 1-0 win over Togo at the Accra sports stadium on Monday.
The players are reported to have complained about the quality of the pitch, as they struggled to keep control of the ball during an energy sapping game in the capital.
And the country’s Black Stars management committee chairman, George Afriyie, hopes for an improvement before the opening qualifier against Mauritius on Sunday June 14.
“The pitch is a problem but at the moment there is nothing we can do,” he said
“We can only hope the quality will improve before Sunday.
“They have to work on it so we can at least an improved playing surface.
